Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Pega Lead System Architect (LSA) based in Calgary to lead the architecture, design, development, modernization, and support of enterprise Pega applications.

The successful candidate will bring strong hands-on experience across the Pega implementation lifecycle, including solution architecture, case management, integrations, performance optimization, platform upgrades, DevOps, and production support. This role requires a senior technical leader who can work closely with business stakeholders, delivery teams, and enterprise architects to translate complex business requirements into scalable and maintainable Pega solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the architecture and technical design of enterprise Pega applications.
  • Translate business and functional requirements into scalable Pega solution designs.
  • Provide technical leadership across development, testing, deployment, and production support.
  • Design case management workflows, business rules, decision rules, declarative rules, integrations, queue processors, and user interfaces.
  • Establish Pega development standards, guardrails, reusable components, and best practices.
  • Conduct architecture reviews, code reviews, performance assessments, and technical risk analysis.
  • Lead Pega platform upgrades, application modernization, rule skimming, and migration initiatives.
  • Design and oversee REST and SOAP integrations with enterprise systems, cloud services, identity platforms, and third-party applications.
  • Troubleshoot complex application and performance issues using Pega diagnostic and monitoring tools.
  • Guide DevOps, CI/CD, release management, and deployment activities.
  • Mentor Pega architects and developers while supporting technical capability development.
  • Participate in client workshops, solution demonstrations, technical proposals, and pre-sales engagements.
  • Support production operations, incident resolution, root-cause analysis, disaster recovery testing, and continuous service improvement.

Required Experience

  • 15+ years of enterprise application development experience.
  • Pega Certified Lead System Architect (CLSA/LSA) certification.
  • Extensive experience with Pega Infinity and Pega 8.x platforms.
  • Strong expertise in Case Management, Business Rules, Decisioning, Declarative Rules, Data Pages, Integrations, Queue Processors, and Pega architecture best practices.
  • Experience with Pega Constellation and Theme Cosmos.
  • Strong knowledge of Pega performance tuning, security, application layering, and enterprise design patterns.
  • Experience integrating Pega with enterprise systems using REST, SOAP, Java, and SQL technologies.
  • Experience with AWS and/or Microsoft Azure cloud platforms.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Pega Deployment Manager, and enterprise DevOps practices.
  • Experience using enterprise monitoring tools such as Splunk, Dynatrace, or Datadog.
  • Strong understanding of Agile delivery methodologies and enterprise production support.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, mentoring, and leadership skills.

Preferred Experience

  • Banking, financial services, insurance, public sector, or other highly regulated industries.
  • Large-scale digital transformation and workflow modernization initiatives.
  • Leading distributed development teams and collaborating with business and technical stakeholders.
  • Additional certifications such as PMP, Certified Scrum Master (CSM), or PCSSA are considered an asset.
